Honestly, sometimes he just takes things too far ... I turn my back for one minute, and the journal up and disappears. You'd think he'd refrain from invading my privacy like he did.
[Filter: Public]
My ... my brother seems to have just taken the liberty of writing in my journals without even introducing himself. What horrible manners ... I'm terribly sorry for that.
His name is Rimon, by the way ... |

You know, I should've done this sooner! This things gotten a million times heavier from the last time I held it, let me tell you. Pretty crazy. |

My, the last of the preparations for winter are really coming along nicely, for me. I do hope everyone else has been having the same luck?
It's really been quite a year of harvesting, preserving, and preparing. I do look forward to a good rest after all this is over with. It's a good thing I have Rimon to cut all the fire wood for me. |

My, there's just been so much to do, lately! It's rather ridiculous how I forget just how much work it is to get ready for the winter. There are so many praparations to make and so many things to keep in mind. I suppose once everything is ready, I do have plenty of time for rest, but it is a rather busy time, isn't it?
Hm ... now, I suppose I should get started on the bread and all those pastries in preparation for tomorrow. |

Aha, I suppose I really should have expected this, but I never truly remember just how crowded it can get after the holiday is over. So many people head home so much sooner than they wish to, but as much as they wish they wouldn't have to, work is work, aha ...
I'll certainly need to go to the markets earlier than usual to prepare everything for tomorrow. It's going to be quite the busy week ... hm ...
Oh, the pie-- |

Hm, there really hasn't been a second to spare, lately. I can't say that it's unwelcome, really. I'd rather keep myself occupied than sit around with nothing to do.
Aha, I just hope that I'll be able to finish everything in time for the Festival. Mm ... and I'm sure keeping busy would be best for Prudence, as well, this time around.
[Filter: Elliot]
Hello!
Aha, well, it certainly is a shame that your location constantly seems to be changing, really. I would have loved to send a gift to you if it could be helped at all. But, well, I suppose we'll have to settle with a promise of a gift, hm?
I hope you'll drop by the inn if it is at all possible, while you're making your way back to Megam, hm?
[Filter: Patience]
Ah, hello dear ... I hope you've settled in some place for the Festival? It just wouldn't do to spend the day alone, after all. |

Aha, I'm glad that the caravans have started arriving. They have a much larger variety of options in their carts, really. It makes it that much easier to pick out a gift for the Festival ... hm, I know what I'll be buying for Mina, of course ... and father.
But hm ... what can I buy for Rimon? Or Prudence, for that matter ...
Well, perhaps it'll come to me with time.
... I suppose it's time for me to head out to the market for todays groceries, hm? |

Aha, I can hardly believe how fast the Festival seems to be approaching us. But I must say, there seem to be so many more people travelling to visit their loved ones this year ... or perhaps it's just all in my head?
The month before is when it really does start getting busy for us, after all. It's a good thing it really isn't nearly as busy for us during the actual holiday. |

It's wonderful how much relief sets in when a crisis like that is averted.

I was wondering if you'd like to take an afternoon off with me, dear?
I think it'd really help us both, some time to ourselves. We'll leave everyone else to handle the inn for a bit, hm? |

Hm ... nothing ever really changes, here. We go day to day, recieving customers, cooking, cleaning, turning over the beds, washing the sheets ... there's really not much to it, is there?
Well, I do get to meet so many interesting people, and hear all the wonderful stories they have of their travels. And every so often, I'll get a customer that was curious to know where I had gone for so long, and then it would be my turn to tell them of my journey through Atsiria ...
Prudence and Patience have both grown so much, over the years ... and of course, it wasn't my place at to to stop him from leaving. Though, through all that we had gone through, I had hoped he'd see more sense ...
Well, no matter. He's gone, now, and in much more capable hands. He's grown quite a bit, and can hide his wings completely ... so I'm sure he'll be fine, really. It's just Prudence that I worry about, now. |

Prudence tries, really, but it's plain to see that she's struggling ...

[Filter: Public]
Well, that was certainly an unexpected surprise, wasn't it dears?
I can't believe the amount of customers we've had in the past week. We even had to turn some of them away because we didn't have any room for them. I felt simply awful, but what else was I to do? |

Ahaha ... well, I really shouldn't have encouraged these foolish pranks, but it has been fun, I suppose.
I just hope it doesn't get too out of hand, really. But Rimon knows not to get carried away.
I started by baking him some lovely muffins filled with salt and a crushed red peppers. My, I think I saw him drinking an entire bucket of water. He absolutely hates spicy food, you see. Ah ... but my father also picked up a muffin and I suppose you could say that he got caught up in the crossfire. Then, my brother simply got back at me by dropping an entire bucket of water on my head when I stepped out of the inn ... hm ...
Well ... after that, I tried the warm water ... ah ... he's quite cross with me now, I'm afraid. But I do believe he may actually be a bit impressed, as well. He doesn't know that I've been cheating and getting help, of course. |

Do you have any ideas for ... practical jokes? Well, I suppose you could call them pranks if you'd like. I'm afraid my brother really does seem to have the upper hand by a rather significant amount of ideas and I thought if perhaps I had something like these journals at my disposal, it wouldn't hurt to ask, really. |

It really is the least I could do if he refuses to listen to reason.
Well, perhaps Prudence and I will make a little trip of our own, in the future.

I can't simply abandon all of my duties here at the inn for another journey far away from home. Of course, it wouldn't be anything like Atsiria, though it will still most likely be a long journey. I couldn't possibly expect everyone to run the inn without me again, and while I go to Eblar of all places.
I'm sure they want to make such a trip just as badly as I do ... though it would hardly hurt to bring it up, at the very least, would it ...? |

Here's what I've been thinking, dear ...
I'll be providing you with all of the essentials, of course. A compass, a bed roll, some flint and steal, dried meat, cheese, bread ... things that you certainly can't do without. But these really aren't my main concern, you understand ...
My main concern is your saftey and I simply can't put my mind at ease thinking that you'll be out there on your own. I certainly can't afford to pay for a guided passage for you all the way to Kilia, and there's certainly no way I'll entrust a complete stranger with your saftey. Now, I know it may be a while before this actually happens ... but what if you were to wait for a merchant caravan to drop by my inn?
Of course ... they would have to be heading over to Kilia so we don't know quite how long it would take for the opportunity to arise ... but it would be safer, at the very least. There are many merchants amongst my patrons, and some of them have been stopping by for years. I believe they'd be more than happy to have an extra person traveling with them, since it'd be safer for them as well as it would be for you. And of course, if I were to give them a nice discount, I'm sure they would be thrilled to oblige.
What do you think, dear? |

Now, I'm afraid we're left with much to clean, hm?
Perhaps I should have cleaned up promptly after dinner, instead of waiting until today. Though really, everyone was quite insistent that I simply let the dishes soak for the night. Though I must say, sitting by the fireplace, telling stories, and eating dessert was far more enjoyable than cleaning ever could have been. |
